Here is a quick run down of all the places to go to get your mining up to max level, enjoy.
Copper Mining
Horde
Mulgore is a great place to mine for copper at an early level. It is extremely easy to follow, you literally just run around the outside of Mulgore in a giant oval, it is extremely simple. You also get most of the quests around the outside as well at the same time.
Copper Mining
Alliance
The best route for copper whilst alliance is to travel to Darkshore and make lines up the hills to the right and a line slightly inland from the coast to the left. This will provide a lot of copper as most people will tend to just soak up Elwynn Forests copper.
Iron and Gold Mining
Horde and Alliance
Now that Western Plaguelands as been changed in respect to its level ranges you can now net some pretty decent iron here. Try to remain south as much as possible whilst doing a circuite of the map, you want to form a half circuit of the southern part of the map.
Mithril and Truesilver Mining
Horde and Alliance
Skirting around the outside of this zone will net you a decent amount of mithril, the only problem is that there does tend to be a decent amount of mobs scattered all through felwood, so be careful!
Thorium Mining
Horde and Alliance
Thorium can be found in Winterspring, I believe most people will tell you this is the single best place to get hold of a lot of thorium, there are a few caves you can go into to get a boost every so often. You can either skirt the southern cliffs and caves all over or do a general outline of the majority of Winterspring.
Fel Iron Mining
Horde and Alliance
Hellfire Peninsula will definitely be a big key in getting yourself a lot of fel iron. Fel iron can be found all around the outside but also you find a lot of it in random hills or ditches around the map, you will find fel iron if you go here. Enjoy!
Adamantite Mining
Horde and Alliance
Nagrand is littered with adamantite (kind of). You will find a lot of adamantite plus fel iron in Nagrand so it is a perfect place to continue on from Hellfire Peninsula. You will find adamantite all around Nagrand so there is no specific route, but as normal keep to the mountains and hills.
Cobalt Mining
Horde and Alliance
Cobalt mining can be done in Howling Fjord, you can level very highly off of cobalt but you will find it slower than moving onto the more precious saronite ore. Howling Fjords major ore veins can be found inside the caves.
Saronite / Rich Saronite Mining
Horde and Alliance
This is where at level 80 I used to grind and grind for Saronite and Titanium, although you must be 450 to get titanium. It is Sholazar Basin you will find a huge amount of Saronite here. You want to do a circuite of the area then every so often create zig zags across the map to generate the highest amounts of ore.
Obsidium Mining
Horde and Alliance
Instead of going for saronite to 450 you can start obsidium at 425, its up to you. Mount Hyjal is probably the go to place to level your mining, it is fairly straight forward and has a lot of cliff edges on the map. You can try out Vash’jir as well but underwater can suck for miners.
Elementium Mining
Horde and Alliance
Elementium can be mined at level 475. Deepholme has a huge amount of cliffs and rock faces where ore veins usually reside. You want to be leveling up here as this is the best place for elementium.
